11-17-14 – Max Effort SS Yoke Bar Squats
Today I worked on max effort SS Yoke Bar squats, and overall they went really well. I had a good pace going all through my sets which helped me stay warm, but I was still able to get rest in between sets. When using the yolk bar, the weight is more forward on your body so it feels like its pulling you forward. I focused on keeping my chest up and a solid core to prevent from folding up. On my last set the weight was getting heavy, so I decided to break out the knee wraps, which I have not used for months now. I wrapped myself and didn’t wrap them extremely tight. I only got a little bit of a spring from the bottom. My last set was 295 lbs and it stuck for a second when I first started to go up, but after I got passed that point, it came up fast!
