11-4-14 – Deadlifts
Today my legs finally decided to stop being sore. Good thing too since today was deadlift day! I am working with submax weight so I can practice my form. I focused on keeping the bar path close to my body as I lifted the weight. I have a tendency to allow it to travel away from me at the beginning of my rep, causing the lift to be more difficult than it has to be. Matt Ladewski gave me some great pointers when I attended his deadlift meet that will help me improve. His insight has helped me focus on keeping my lats tight throughout the entire set up as well as the lift. This helps keep me in an upright position and helps keep the bar close to my body. The rest of the session was dedicated to some movements that will strengthen my weaknesses.
