12-12-14 – Back at it with Heavy Deadlifts

Finals week. It means a lot of studying, a lot of not sleeping, a lot of Red Bull, a lot of stress, and a lot of not going to the gym. So today I’m back from taking a week and a half off from the gym which for me is long time. I have been craving to get back in. What I hadn’t noticed was the toll this past week of school/work had on me. I walked into the gym feeling good and eager to train but a few sets in I felt how exhausted I was and realized that this might not go a well as I hoped. I started off by taking a little bit more time than usual to stretch because I felt like I needed to ease into working out again. Stretching out felt pretty good but as I started my warm ups they felt very heavy and I could already feel myself getting tired. I worked up to 385, which felt very difficult and then took a downset of 305 for 10 reps.
