2-23-14 – AMAP Deadlifts: Hips & Beyonce

On Wednesday I overworked my upper body with all the shoveling and breaking up ice, on my upper body training day…… so yea, by Friday I was extra sore. I thought my forearms were gonna fall off and my lower back was pretty sore too. I decided to hold off on deadlifts on Friday instead of risking hurting myself. Yes, this pushed all my training back a few days, but it was worth it! I waited until today (Sunday) to deadlift and got 15 reps for my AMAP set! I felt great! Happy that I’m seeing progress. Oh and Mike also helped me loosen up my hips with a couple new mobility tricks that our friend Steve Wagner showed him the day before. I definitely felt a difference and will be implementing those into my warm up routine before my first warm up set of deadlifts from now on. I was feeling great after my deadlifts and put the rest of my accessories into super sets to save time.. we were running late for a birthday drop by for my cousin Evan Davis and then had to run downtown for a radio show interview about HPF. In the midst of all this, I was still energized/happy from training while we were driving to and fro, and I was belting out Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love” in the car to my husband, who was laughing his ass off because he couldn’t believe how good my voice was! Oh and Nikki Minaj “Beez in the Trap” too. If you know us well enough, you already know that I have a background of American Idol car-singing that steals hearts.
