3-14-14 – Bench: Pi Day Pec Blasting

Yes, I’m a nerd. March 14th is Pi day because Pi, a mathematical symbol (pictured below), has the value of 3.14159265359, which is most commonly rounded to 3.14. You learned something new today, didn’t you?!?? Anyways, today was bench day and I did better than I thought.. again! So, you can go back and see what I did for my last cycle of bench. On week 3 I ended with repping 80 lbs as many times as possible, and I got 7 reps. Today, just three weeks later, I benched 85 lbs for 11 reps!!! I’d call that progress! I’m very happy with that! I felt myself squirming under the bar for maybe one or two of those 11 reps, toward the end, but overall, I kept good form. On the last or second to last rep, I got a huge cramp in my right hamstring! Right after I finished, I had Mike take the rolling stick to it and it felt way better. I know my hammies and glutes will be sore after this session!
