3-19-14 – Bench Press

In regards to my previous bench training log, my left arm was considerably worse than it has been. I was even contemplating not coming into the gym this day. But, Jesse talked me into it and I had nothing better to do. I stretched very well, and started slowly through my warm-ups. I felt zero pain, not even fatigue, so I pushed forward to my AMAP. I had only planned on doing it for three reps, but again, Ozzy talked me into just doing as many as I can. I pumped myself up, wrapped up my wrists, chalked my hands and back, and got on the bench. From the first rep to the last, I felt that my left arm was a huge disadvantage. Every single rep, my right arm would press the weight all the way up before my left arm. I was only able press 145 for 5 reps. Although it may still be improvement; it’s very disappointing knowing in my head that I could do so much more. Disregarding my disappointing AMAP; my first accessory consisted of several back to back AMAPs with 100 reps of barbell pushups in the least sets possible. This week, I finished with an equal amount of sets as last week (3), but finished with greater sets (50, 30, 20). As for the rest of my accessories, the weight, sets, and reps remained the same.
