4-19-14 – 635 Reverse Band Box Squat
Today was the day of our weekly SQUAT PARTY! I was in a great mood and decided to train to the blues! Training to the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Buy, and Jonny Lang always gives me much needed energy. This is my last heavy day of squats before we go to Ohio to the Elitefts Learn to Train Seminar to learn and lift the the best and strongest lifters in the world.
Warm ups went well. I was making big jumps, 45 lbs with each set. Everything was feeling very light. I was able to keep myself in a very tight position and I was able to push my back into the bar with great force. I am guilty of loosening up at times so I focused on squeezing my back tight and not collapsing my torso when I was in the hole. I ended up with 635 and I felt like I still had some left in the tank but I decided to cut it short and save it for the weekend. I finished with all the necessary accessories to get my squat strong(er). I had a good supported cast with me today that helped me push through.
