4-22-14 – Bench Press & 2 BIG ASS CHAINS
So today was my first, official day back since having my wisdom teeth removed. Previously, the only real lifting I had done were my warm ups sets for deadlifts just a few days before. My previous deadlift day actually resulted in my benching today due to my legs and back being too sore to squat. As for the main lift, they all felt great. My left arm wasn’t too much of a concern, and every set felt fairly easy, including my final set of 135 x 5. Next, Kevin and I moved onto an accessory I haven’t done in several weeks and I’ve always loved doing. This would be 100 pushups against a barbell on the first pin of the rack in least sets as possible, but this time, with fat grips attached to the bar. I finished in four sets compared the three sets I used to finish with. As for the rest of the workout, everything went as usual excluding a new accessory being rope hammer curls with two big ass chains. Kevin was only able to finish three sets of ten while I was able to finish three sets of twenty, but with a huge struggle, forcing me to take several breaks between reps and sets. All in all, another successful day at HPF and I was sure to feel it the next couple of days.
