4-28-14 – Squatting Like a Man

Being both very beat from the weekend and the first half of the day me and Danny almost didn’t come in but after we decided to be men we knew that it was time for squats. On the way to the gym I tried to get in the best zone I could by listening to some music and sipping some C4. By time we got to the gym I was ready to go and knowing that Mike had just gotten back from LTT8 I asked if he had some knowledge to drop on me and he said “go insane on the accessory lifts”. I applied this advice to the whole workout and had a very intense day. Starting out on squats I did everything I could to prevent “leakage” which for me means forcing my elbows under the bar to prevent my chest from leaning forward. This helped a lot in my lifts and made the weight feel very light and it felt like I was in more control of the weight. For my last set I threw on my Elitefts knee wraps and this time I felt a lot more stable in them compared to the last time where I almost fell forward. As I incorporate them more and more into my training I am learning and feeling how to utilize them during a lift.
