5-1-14 – Dreadlifts
This deadlift day could not have dragged any more than it did. I was forced to get to the gym around 7, not giving me much time to finish my entire workout. I went with Jesse who had just deadlifted to day before, so he was just there to be there. Not only was I not motivated whatsoever myself, but Jesse’s lack of motivation rubbed off on me. It took me well over an hour just to finish my working sets of deadlifts, which all felt quite easy. Lastly, I finished with just my first accessory being rack pulls. For this, I was able to find some motivation in that fact that I would not be doing anymore after these. I was dedicated to pull more than my previous max. So, I began with 275 for five to warm up, and then moved to 315 for five before pulling my previous max of 340 for five. I couldn’t be done there. I pushed myself to the weight that Jesse had pulled, being 365 for five. I was only able to pull 365 for three before failing my fourth rep and coming back for two more. Although my form may have not been the best, I was still very happy to be able to hold 365 for a long period of time without any struggle whatsoever. Overall, I felt very accomplished and much more confident with the meet coming up.
