5-12-14 – Fat Grips & Chains
I have been working with Fat Grips in these recent weeks and I have a love/hate relationship with them. Max effort floor press with chains and Fat Grips was the weapon of choice for today’s training session. I was able to maintain a tight position throughout my sets. This is important because unlike a regular bench press, you don’t have the ability to stabilize yourself by using leg drive. I made sure that my upper back was controlling the bar as it was coming down. I felt very explosive with every rep, including the last rep. I was able to press 375 lbs and it felt great! My down set of 320 lbs was a little taxing on me. I was able to do 5 reps and the last couple were grinders. This will help in the long run. Overall it was a good session. I kept myself focused on technique and overcoming pain from the fatigue of my muscles. Great session today!
