5-5-14 – Physical & Mental Strength
Week 3 of my training leading up to the meet and it was as many as possible day. I had too bench 215 for as many reps as I could. Knowing that this weight is really close to what I can actually hit on bench, I was nervous to attempt it. My first two work sets felt really easy, even did a pause on my second work set with 185. As 215 approached, all I was thinking about was giving it all I had. I only got 2 reps, but those two reps were tough. As I went for a third rep, when the bar came off my chest my elbows immediately flared out, causing the weight to also come down. I do feel myself getting stronger, not only physically but mentally and technically, also.
