6-6-14 – Deadlifts

Going in to deadlift this morning, I felt excited to start the new cycle. At the same time though I was feeling nervous because I hadn’t deadlifted in two weeks. Overcoming that obstacle I went right to work and began my session. As always I try to be as powerful and fast while deadlifting, while having good technique throughout each set and rep. My first set was 275, which felt pretty easy, and I didn’t have to use a belt. Next came 315, also for 5 which wasn’t too bad, other than the plates beginning to fall off of one side because I for to put a clip on. Lastly, 365 was my last set of 5 and it was also the toughest. My last two reps were by far the hardest, but I stuck with it. Also I have continued to use the dead stop while deadlifting because it allows me to stay tight the entire time.
