6-7-14 – Squats (as many as possible)
Today concluded my first cycle being on 5/3/1. This is the first time I have ever been on a progressive program like this. I learned today that with 13 years of experience in the gym I know next to nothing. This feeling is both rewarding and discouraging. Granted, most of those years were in the fashion of bodybuilding but I feel as though I should be much farther ahead of the curve than I am. This is ok though. I have much work to do and I am eager to learn.
As far as my training today, it was a good end to my first cycle. Mike Mireles thought my next cycle should include box squats as an accessory as I seem to be having trouble sitting back (causing an ache in my patella tendons). I ended with 400lbs for amap. This was 85% of my training max. No wraps just sleeves to keep my knees warm. I stopped at 10 reps as I felt my form go. Side note: being that this is sort of a test cycle and my amap sets are getting a ton of reps, my form seems to go. This is showing me weak points which I now know I have and can pinpoint accessories I need to be doing. Good first run.
