12-4-13 – Squats

Today I made it an early training session. While running on about an hour of sleep I knew it was going to be a rough one but the work had to get done. I warmed up and spent a good amount of time on the Rumble Roller. It was well needed. My warmups felt heavier than they should have. I don’t feel I was getting tight on all of my reps during those sets. My first working set was unusually high. When I saw that on video I made it a point to get lower. If you haven’t noticed I like squatting with my shorts rolled up. Not only does this give me a chance for a modeling contract for NAIR but it also helps me see where my depth is on video.

My working sets felt strong for the most part. I was starting to lose my usual pop out of the hole. I felt my butt come straight down on a few of my reps. I try to sit back in all of my squats to help engage my glutes and hamstrings more but when you don’t sit back you definitely feel the difference. My last couple of reps on my last set felt WAY HEAVIER than they should have.

After my working sets I had a limited amount of time to finish my training. I planned more exercises than I had time for so I picked to do the ones that I would benefit me the most: SS Yoke Bar Squats, glute/ham raises, and reverse hypers. After I was done I just wanted to go home, take a shower, and get some sleep but nope. No sleep can happen. I had the rest of the day ahead of me to help people achieve their goals. This is what keeps me going. I love being in the position I am in. Great session today.
