2-15-14 – Deadlifts & a bloody toe

‘Twas a good day of lifting with my training partner Danny Flood. We started off with dead lifts and I’m starting to let the weight settle after every rep just to make it a little more challenging and not rely on the bounce to assist me.  After my second working set Danny pointed out that I was bending my arms slightly on the way up and when it comes to dead lifts that is a big no no and with that correction the next set looked a lot better. One lesson I learned today is not to kick a dead lift jack because the Jack will win and your toe will not look pretty. But the fountain of blood didn’t stop me from getting in a few more lifts before closing time. The next day we came in to finish what we started because NO EXCUSES is one of the laws we live by here at HPF.
