2-17-14 – Squat: Minivan, Blizzard, and REPS!

Finally!!! AMAP (as many as possible) week! So today didn’t go as planned. We left the house late, then the old lady next door got her minivan stuck right in front of our place. So Michael got out and started helping her shovel out the snow, and I did too. Then, thanks to our lovely Midwest winter we’ve had this year, the weather turned from not snowing at all near home, to a full white-out blizzard as we got half way to HPF, slowing down traffic tremendously. Sooo, I didn’t have enough time to train, and had to wait until about 11:30am to start. Needless to say, I was excited to get to my AMAP set and I did well: 20 reps! I feel like I could’ve done more but multiple aspects of my form started failing, so to be safe, Mike stopped me at 20. Of course, this is my first full cycle in a while and the training maxes were set low anyways, but I still did well. I felt strong(her). Kept my breath in my belly, not my chest, and tried my best to keep everything tight throughout the lifts. My accessories went smooth today. Split leg squats and my quads still are still fighting, and the reverse hyper isn’t making friends with my lower back now either, but that’s all supposed to happen, so it’s a good thing.
