11-14-13 – Deadlifts
Dead lifts. Some may shutter at the name, but I look forward to this day all week. For me it’s the most challenging of the main lifts and today is week 3, so it’s the heaviest day of the cycle. I started with my warm-up sets and I felt off, and this continued into my working sets. The weight felt heavier than it should have, and I didn’t have high hopes for my last set. I slapped 290 on the bar and told myself to at least get 5. I felt strained for the first rep but as I kept going and found a rhythm I was able to go for 13. I am incredibly happy about that number and look forward to crushing it at the end of my following cycle. SPECIAL THANKS TO MIKE M, MIKE R, DANNY F, JUAN C, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS IN THE GYM AT THE TIME. YOU GUYS REALLY PUSHED ME THROUGH THE WALL, AND GAVE ME THE DRIVE THAT I NEEDED TODAY.
