10-14-13 – Squats
This week is the week where I will be doing as many reps as possible on all the last sets of my main lifts. These will be challenging both physically and mentally. I wanted to complete the cycle without any knee wraps and with out a belt. I did use knee sleeves but those are used as a security blanket for me.
My warm up sets always feel the worst. I spent a lot of time warming up but I still hate the feeling of my warm up sets. I would rather squat 500 lbs than 135 lbs. 135 always feels so heavy.
Technique felt on today. My body remained tight and I was able to stay in a good position. I was shooting for any thing over 5 reps for my last set. I was able to hit a set of seven. It was a good way to start this first cycle. My abs had a sharp pain in them as I was bringing the bar up. This happens when I tighten and push my stomach outward so hard. This helps me stay stable and control the weight easier. A great way to end this training cycle.
