10-29-13 – Bench Press

Today was the day where I needed the barbell for therapy. Stress was getting to me today. It usually doesn’t but I guess that is what comes with the territory of being a business owner.

I have been training with my dad for the past couple of months now and it is helping me out a lot. We push each other and make each other better in the gym. This one session I knew I would need him to help get me better. The benches felt great. My upper back felt solid on  the bench. I am getting more comfortable with unracking the weight out of the rack with no spotter. My shoulders feel very stable.

My accessories went well. I kept band assisted pull ups in my cycle. I have neglected pull ups for years. It’s time I’d start working on them. They were the worst part of my training session but it felt easier than last week. Progress is progress in my book.

Needless to say that the barbell, once again relieved my stress and put me in a focused state of mind. Dad did great as well. He is getting strong(er) every week.
