1-22-14 – Bench: Snow & Independence
So I’m not a morning person. My husband knows that. In order to keep his and my training consistent, we’re going to start training together in the morning before our facility opens. I’ve got to change my feelings about early hours if I want to see anything else change, like my PR’s. I’m a person of very few words for the first few hours that I wake up if I’m not “ready” to be awake. This morning, I don’t doubt that the weather check (6 degrees at 6am) I did before I left the house contributed to my lack of enthusiasm of being awake and training early. I absolutely hate the cold! I plan on living somewhere like San Diego for the rest of my life where it’s 70+ degrees every day! Anyways, my husband, the trooper, dealt with my bad attitude for a bit and then told me to sack up and train. So I did. Bench went well. I brought the bar out by myself for all my sets, not taking any hand offs or spots. This will help me get used to the weight in my hands, being able to stabilize it, and help strengthen my shoulders. This way, there’s no room for error with a potentially “bad” hand off and when I do have someone help, it will feel great!
